Oops, I Forgot To Wear Green

Happy St Patrick’s Day to all. Like every other holiday which has occurred this year I’m not planning on participating in any St. Patrick’s Day revelry today.

A Night In Roswell
Last night I fought traffic, and oh there was plenty to fight, to get myself from the office to Roswell for the Roswell Photographic Society. Last night’s meeting was the monthly critique meeting and even though I didn’t have a photo to enter I decided I wanted to go to see what others are producing. Overall the shots were good, but I think that the night’s evaluator, local photographer Kathryn Kolb, was a bit too lenient with her critiques.

I’m enjoying participating in RPS meetings, although I must admit I despise driving to Roswell after work, and getting home after 9:00 PM makes for a really long day — especially on a Monday.

ITP Flickr Pic
I’ve not picked up my camera in days so I’ll have to snag on from my recent Raleigh trip.
Behind The Wheel
In case you don’t know who that it is, it’s me.

OMFG, I Never Would Have Thunk It
Last night after the Roswell Photographic Society meeting I needed dinner. Since it was getting late I didn’t want fancy sit-down in Roswell and after the Baconnator fiasco of a few months ago I was once again avoiding “fast food.”

I got off of 400 at Sidney Marcus and started to ponder. It was now near 9:00 PM and feared that most of the places I’d desire would be closed (ITP ain’t Manhattan, after all). Where did I wind up? Hehehehe….. Waffle House. That’s right. Waffle House.

I have absolutely no problem eating breakfast food 24/7, but I wasn’t into eating eggs last night. Instead I went for the bacon cheeseburger (Baconnator be damned!) with a side of hash browns. Hell’s yeah it was good! You can guarantee that I shall return some time in the future. I don’t see why I shouldn’t, it’s not like I’m trying to impress anyone at the moment.

$22.50 + Ticketmaster = $33.60
Jesus Christ, I just refuse to do business with Ticketmaster again! I don’t care if I never see another “big act” concert or a concert at a venue that only provides Ticketmaster as its online ticket option again!

Because I’ve not had the time to stop by the box office for Center Stage to purchase a ticket for next week’s Gomez concert I had to succumb to the Evil Ticket Empire.

Ticket Price: $22.50
Convenience Charge: $6.50
Venue Charge: $1.00
Order Processing Charge: $3.60
Total Cost of $22.50 ticket after Ticketmaster flogs you: $33.60

Never.
Again.

Well, I did wear green, so I don’t get pinched.
I don’t think I could by a ticket that is 33% service charge. It abut killed me to pay the $2 charge on the $15 IMAX ticket on Sunday. but, we didn’t want to risk driving all the way to the Mall of GA to find out that Watchnen was sold out…..

  2. Sal says:

I woke up reminding myself I should wear green…but between getting up and eating breakfast I must have forgotten since I do not have a lick of green on! My short term memory sucks.

“These people think we’re fools. We’re not fools. They’re gonna be fools for trying this.” Those are the words of New Jersey Congressman Bill Pascrell (D). He says he’s fielded so many complaints, he wants to take legal against Ticketmaster. He has asked the U.S. Federal Trade Commission and the New Jersey Attorney General to investigate.

  3. Sandy says:

C’mon, you gotta celebrate today with a burrito! 🙂

  4. I promised a friend that I would go to this concert otherwise I would have balked at purchasing through Ticketmaster and would have taken a chance to purchase a ticket the night of the concert instead.

  5. Oh Dayum, I completely forgot to mention your St Patty’s <-> Cinco de Mayo switcheroo!

I WILL celebrate the day with a burrito tonight! 🙂

  6. Barb says:

Speedy combo # something will be had for lunch today….. great idea, I was jsut trying ot figure out what to have for lunch.

  7. Sandy says:

Hurray for St. Cincorick’s Day! (I may need to work on that one) You can always get some guac on the side, just to add a little green to your day.

  8. RanLiCoop says:

Cooper and I had Mexican for lunch today – and I didn’t even know about the switcheroo 😉

Note: the Mexican restaurant that both Kevin and I worked at years ago always ran an “Irish I Were Mexican” promotion on St. Patty’s Day – go figure.

  9. Yeah, do remember spending one St. Patrick’s Day at Ri O’Grande in Buckhead back in the late 90’s. That place was packed, but then it was Buckhead in the late 90’s so it didn’t take much to get people to drink.
