The fog looms heavy this morning. It doesn’t often in Atlanta, so the novelty is pretty cool.
Perhaps My Final Trip To Circuit City
The other night I went into a Circuit City for perhaps the last time. In case you haven’t heard, Circuit City has filed for bankruptcy and will be closing all Atlanta stores by year’s end.
Going inside the store was depressing. It always saddens me to see a partially filled store, knowing well and good that the store’s inventory will continue to be depleted.
I had a very specific purchase in mind, but even with the 10% “discount” the Circuit City price was $40 more than I would pay on Amazon. Gee, I wonder why Circuit City is going out of business? I will continue to monitor the “discounts” being offered by Circuit City, and when it hits 40-50% I may make one more attempt at making my purchase.
That Was A Good, Dinner But Was It $19 Good?
In an effort to avoid eating Mexican food last night I stopped at Everybody’s Pizza on the way home. I chose Everybody’s because I thought that I could get a goodly-sized salad and some cheesy breadsticks on the cheap. I was able to get the food, but the prices have gone through the roof.
A small order of cheesy breadsticks was $5.79, I chose to go with the non-cheesy variety for $2.99 instead.
A small mixed-greens salad, before any additions, was $5.79. Since I knew that I wanted at least two added toppings I chose an iceberg lettuce salad instead.
When you add in the $5.50 pint of beer (which was a bitter ale and delicious I might add), tax, and tip, my bill was $19. Yikes!

Because I can’t seem to make the time and drum up any creativity.
HD-DVD From Netflix Going The Way Of Circuit City
Yesterday I received an email from Netflix alerting me that as of December 15th they will no longer be offering HD-DVDs. You may remember that earlier this year Netflix stopped purchasing new HD-DVDs because Blu-Ray had won the “high definition disc war.”
One more time I realized that I tossed away $200 by purchasing the HD-DVD add-on for my XBOX360. If not for the fact that I also purchased Planet Earth on HD-DVD I’d just donate the player to Goodwill.
It’s Been A While Since I’ve Seen A Concert, Tonight That Will End
It’s Providence Canyon weekend for the Atlanta Hash. If this were like year’s past I would be heading down to the park tonight. However, I’ve secured a ticket to the Conor Oberst concert at Variety Playhouse tonight, so I’ll be hanging ITP for the evening and heading down to the hash tomorrow.
Guess who will be using his car as a tent again. 🙂

We will miss you tonight but good news, we’ve picked up Bwana and Front End Loader (Facebook, can actually be useful) for the weekend at the last minute.
We will see you tomorrow, it is so pretty down there, you should come home with lots of great pictures.
Yay, more men at the campout! Wait a minute, that’s not good for me…. DAMN YOU Facebook!!! 😉
I will be leaving Atlanta at the buttcrack of dawn tomorrow, hoping to catch some good light along the way.

And, I actually like today’s picture. I knew that sky would be a good contrast for the lighter color leaves.
I went to CA Pizza Kitchen at Lenox last night for a couple drinks with a friend & some food after shopping. It wasn’t a good deal at all (and the pizza didn’t impress me all that much either, especially for the price), I remembered why we rarely go out to eat anymore.
Foggy Friday…kind of like my brain.
Must have been Pizza night…I went to Mellow Mushroom…we ate tons of pizza and drank lots of beer!
I nearly went to Mellow Mushroom, most likely not the same one as you Sal, but I was craving one of Everybody’s salads.
A coworker and I have been hitting Circuit Shitty weekly. The deals were slightly better this week, but in this Bush Economy™ they’ll need to get into 50 percent off territory before I spend.
