Day One of the workshop is in the books. I am having a great time, even though no landscape work done yet. The only thing that I fear is that we won’t be making it to the New Belgium brewery.
Day Two will start in a few hours which will be followed by the recording of the Tips From The Top Floor podcast. This workshop has become a mini podcasting Who’s Who. In attendance is Randal Schwartz (“FLOSS Weekly” podcast) and Trucker Tom (“The Trucker Tom” podcast), and yesterday Jon Miller (“The Rest Of Everest” podcast) dropped in.
Today please enjoy one more passage from “Notes To Myself” and a slew of photos that I snapped yesterday (all of these are the way they came out of the camera).

Today’s passage from Notes To Myself.
There is a certain beauty in poverty, loss and desolation. There is a certain strength and grandeur in suffering. Grays, storms, ruins, age are powerful subjects for a painting. Even a dump heap can evoke admiration.
To all who have helped me — Thanks.

since I’m not a photog – what does do not use “The Rule Of Thirds†mean?
I was going to ask the same thing…teach us oh great one!! 😉
okay, okay….
Draw a tic-tac-toe board on a photo. This divides the photo into thirds both vertically and horizontally. History has proven that people tend to enjoy photos in which the subject of the photo is positioned either on one of the four intersections of these lines, or along one of the lines themselves.
Oh so that is what that grid on my view finder is for…
Okay I can go home now, I learned something today.
HMMPH!!! *I* ask him on the Rule of Thirds and he makes ME go to bloody Google. Y’all ask him and he actually tells you! I see how I rate….
He has to answer me, I live close enough to him to make his life miserable if he doesn’t or maybe he didn’t think I would be clever enough to figure out how google works?
Stacy, you just asked in the wrong place. I figured once three people asked I should provide an answer.
Doesn’t that make that some kind of “rule of thirds” which you shouldn’t be doing anyway? 😉
Paulie, When I saw the photo from downtown with the street sign, it reminded me…..There is a cool gallery on that street. The Walnut Street Gallery…. check it out ….much Rock Roll stuff from 60’s/70’s. Willy.
