No, really. The last time I remember seeing my old Garmin Forerunner 201 was at the end of last Wednesday’s Marta-to-auto run. I’ve looked in my gym bag, I looked around the house, I’ve cleaned out my trunk; it is to be found nowhere.
Read Along With Me
Today’s passage from Notes To Myself.
When someone disagrees with me, I do not have to immediately start revising what I just said.
To all who have helped me — Thanks.
It’s A Free Coffee Day At Joe’s In East Atlanta
While I still miss the satisfaction of seeing Ellen behind the counter I cannot complain when I go into my favorite coffee shop and they hand me a free cup of coffee (sure wish they had a website I could point you to).
Push One Area, Another’s Got To Give
Last night I was supposed to go running with the EAV Monday Running Group. However, I also had People Photography homework to finish for tonight’s class. Something had to give. That something quickly became running when one of my coworkers became a willing volunteer model for my homework assignment. I’ll post the best of the photos that I took here if she gives me permission.
ITP Flickr Pic
In the meantime you’ll have to look at another shot I took last Friday night.
Originally this shot was bathed in red because a red-gel light was turned on the moment I took the shot. However, I’ve found that this lighting can make for good black and whites.
The Things That Can Sway Me
Want to know why I would even consider riding forty-five (grueling) miles in North Georgia for the Up A Creek Without A Pedal ride? One reason is because they have ride-day registration, but the biggest reason is that their entrance fee is reasonable ($20 without a t-shirt — don’t need another one, thanks).
Want to know why I quickly dismissed the notion of doing the Muddy Buddy? Because their entrance fee is $140 for a two-person team! C’mon $70 a person? You can’t be serious.
As I get older I find that the price of entry is a huge factor in swaying my participation. I can, although I don’t often, run thirteen miles or ride fifty miles, without the need of support.
Bloggus Interruptus
My boss has called a 8am meeting (maybe it’s a good thing I woke up to late for a morning run as I would have missed it). I’m taking a break here from this morning’s post. So if you sense a disconnect from what you’ve read above, more so than you would have normally, you understand what has happened.
Okay, I’m back…
Mea Culpa
I really should have watched the content on Sometimes Daily before sending you there yesterday. Man, that was painful. I’m sorry.
CD Pick Of The Week
Hey, Clay Aiken has a new release today — PASS.
Hey, Neil Diamond has a new release today — PASS.
Hey, Keith Sweat has a new release today — PASS.
Hey, Barenaked Ladies has a new release today — PASS.
Hey, Iron Maiden has a new “Best Of” release today — PASS.
Hey, Elvis Costello has a new release today — hmm, alright. I’d be a lot better prepared to discuss this new release had I been able see Costello in concert as scheduled last Monday night. However, I’m still intrigued even if Costello has implemented some hokey distribution scheme where no CDs will be pressed.
And now for some ideas stolen from LiveJournal…
Current Mood – fair, would be great if things were different.
Current Music – Sirius Satellite Radio, Channel 26 playing Dinosaur Jr. — “Start Choppin” (J Mascus is one of the best guitar players of all time… imho)

Well the old man did try to kill me last night. His idea of an easy run is still sub-9 min miles… I kept up for about a mile and then I was alone. It was better that way and still one of my fastest runs since ING.
We did have some pretty yummy pork tacos at FI too.
I passed BWanA on Glenwood and honked at him. I was even later than planned because I decided to stop at REI and pick up hiking boots (a teaser for tomorrow’s blog)
It claims a bacon-a-day….FOREVER. That’s a mighty large claim.
I think we just need to throw down already and have a bacon party. Everyone bring a 6-pack and a dish to pass — dish MUST contain bacon.
“Forever” comes more quickly than you think when you are eating bacon every day. 🙂
Let’s have a party on a Saturday night so that we don’t inadvertently invite people who will need to go to synagogue. 😉
Oh that reminds me…I got my REI coupon the other day. It is yours if you want it. However, I think the coupon is linked to your membership number (one per member), so if you want me to pick something up for you I’d be happy to.
I never even looked for that REI coupon, did it come in an envelope, or in a flyer/magazine?
Mebbe. I don’t think I’ll need it though because yesterday I noticed that Yakima stuff is 20% off during this sale. Now all I need to do is convince myself that it’s okay to spend $135 on something that I really don’t need.
@Barb: It was on the back of a multi-page sale “catalog”
There’s a big billboard up here (yup, waaaay up here) on I-75/I-575 advertising the new one in Kennesawish. Maybe you need to schedule a trip to Tennessee so you can come check it out. 🙂 I bet Barb and I can be convinced to meet you for dinner at Tasty China after!
Perhaps. I’d have to schedule it on a day that I drive to work since The Marta doesn’t go to The Marietta.
Sal (Burning Bush) was a the pre-opening and said that the store was nice.
If you can’t find your forerunner and decide to repurchase, I whole-heartedly recommend the 405 (mac support coming fall 08). It’s a very nice upgrade from the 205/305 series in terms of interface and form factor. I’m still trying to configure it the way I want it, but it’s definitely a step in the right direction (though I can see the touch-bezel becoming a love/hate thing).
Cool Cory, I’ll have to check that out. I’m sure my saga will end just like Martha’s… the day I purchase a new GPS watch the one I lost will show up.
I’m sure you noticed that REI has the 205/305 on sale…cheapest I’ve seen them.
Actually, I didn’t even look at those. I still have this crazy feeling that I will find mine. (I’ll be looking now though)
