Tour De Georgia Rides Again
Our local fish wrapper is reporting that the Tour de Georgia bicycle race is returning in April 2007. And even better, the race will be occurring on the streets of Atlanta for the first time. I am really psyched to hear this and look forward to seeing it next year.
Free At Last, Free At Last
Well, my decision to finally break down and purchase a BlackJack phone from Cingular actually wound up costing me more money than I was spending before. However, I am glad that the process is done, at least for the near term.
I promise to stop blogging about which phone I want, however will make no such guarantee for the new current phone.
Why Would You Want To Live On The Back Side Of A OfficeMax or Kroger?
This is the question I ask myself every time I drive on Moreland and see that they are building a row of townhomes directly behind these two stores?
When I first noticed the construction I also thought to myself “You’re kidding, they are actually going to build something on that tiny plot of land? I thought that’s where a retention pond would occur.”
I have underestimated the greed of both the American Home Builder, and the potential stupidity of the American Home Buyer.

Looking through my stream I saw than I never published any of the pictures I took while at Masquerade last week. Here’s one. Forgive the crummy quality, my point and shoot doesn’t handle low light very well.
I May be at George’s Tonight
And I may also run… albeit alone because my running has degraded so much that I cannot keep up with a crowd any longer.
And to all of you runners who are getting up early tomorrow to run either the half or full marathon — good luck. I’ll be at the end drinking a beer or two taking snapshots. Don’t forget to carbo-load tonight (with beer) and hydrate tomorrow (with beer).
And now for some ideas stolen from LiveJournal…
Current Mood – bummed
Current Music – Sirius Satellite Radio, Channel 26 playing Camera Obscura — “If Looks Could Kill”
Website Of The Day – Have to bring something to a Thanksgiving Day dinner but are lacking ideas? Check out What’s 4 Eats to see if you can find anything interesting. Pass on green bean casserole, you can bet that someone else will be bringing that.
Exercise (b)Log – none, things got a bit screwed up last night
Cheers,
Paulie [eatl/ga]
have a great long weekend, come to Wheelhopper on sunday, either wide or skinny tires will work……
If I make it to George’s tonight, I’ll run with you. There is NO way you are slower than me. 🙂
If you come out to BS I’ll remember to bring your shirt.
I’m much more likely to hit Black Sheep over Wheelhopper. I’m marching toward my 50th Black Sheep and my first hashing mug. Funny to think that I’ve been hashing for 7.5 years and have yet to accumulate 100 hashes with Atlanta or Pine Lake.
OMG!!! Has it really been 7.5 years of hashing??? Well, that assumes I still attend a hash or 2… or is it like being a Marine…
The Mizzus and I are planning on G’s tonight, but I’m feeling a might poorly, so may pass.
And TdeGA has been in Atlanta before- the very first year they did a circuit race as the final stage.
-FP
I started hashing in 1999 and you the week after me, so 7.5 years it has been. Hope you feel better.
I was just parroting facts about the TdeGA from the AJC. My bad!
btw- Tybee is the Saturday of Super Bowl weekend again. Idiots!
If I remember correctly from comments from my father-in-law (who was riding in the mavic car I think)- downtown Atlanta didn’t support the race very well. I hope the organizers work a little harder this time. A Curcuit race can be a blast, I remember hanging at Dipsticks during the First Union race years ago, about every 20 minutes you get up & cheer as they go by, otherwise it is just a drinking party!
And…. mugs are overrated, I have 3 (AH4. BSH3, WH3) that are in a cupboard somewhere. 😉
A mug is overrated when you have one. Until then they are prized possessions.
Paulie-
I seem to recall that you came in way ahead of me at Twisted Ankle earlier this year, so no whining about ‘slowness’ please!
😉
If you are up for a 10k tomorrow, I’m doing the Gobble Jog in Marietta before heading down to cheer on the marathon crowd.
Michelle
LOL Michelle. Twisted Ankle was many days and at least five pounds ago, so roles might be reversed today.
It looks like I might be a clothes/beer mule tomorrow morning, so no 10k for me.
Another reason to feel good about not runnin’ marathons!!

Especially with my Irish-German genetics. I’m not exactly comprised of “tanning stock.”
