Will The Sun Ever Return?

These have been the three of the gloomiest days that I can remember in some time. I am starting to doubt that the sun will ever return. I don’t see myself moving to the Pacific Northwest any time soon.

With all of the gloomy weather, I’ll look at this picture to make me happy

Mosh Like It’s 1989!
I knew this wasn’t going to be a concert like I’ve become accustom to in recent years when I was talking to a kid in line and he said that he left his glasses home…

The opening act of the four band (again?!) night was a seven-piece known as Brothers and Sisters. They were a little to light for my ears, which surprised me considered the comment made by the kid in line, but at least the girls singers were easy on the eyes.

Next up was a three-piece known as Celebration. Their music was alright, more rocking than Brothers and Sisters, but still not much up my alley.

Third on the bill was The Blood Brothers. Now I was begging to understand… The Blood Brothers are a five piece which included two singers/yellers (one being very glam punk), a decent guitar player, a great bass/keyboardist, and the sickest motherf*cking drummer that I have seen in a long time. Back in the day I would have categorized these guys as punk, I’m not sure what the kids today would call it. I quickly determined that I was at the edge of the mosh pit and made sure I stayed there. The amount of testosterone which flowed was something I hadn’t seen in years. I’d never heard of The Blood Brothers, but all those around me seemed to know all of their songs.

Finally it was time for the band I was there to see, …And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead. Assuming the mosh pitters were headed for the door I made my way to the front of the venue. I got to see about four songs or so before I started getting slammed into from behind, so I moved away from the center of the stage. In hindsight I might have also been better off moving further back because the sound quality up front was pretty lousy.

The show wrapped up by midnight and it was time to return home to catch up on some television.

Message In A Bottle
Oh Survivor you are trying so hard to change things up…

I’ll start off by saying that I picked Jonathan to get ousted this in my friendly pool this week and I was so happy when the message in the bottle forced the tribe to vote off another member. I thought I was so money. It was doubly frustrating when the voted off Jenny because I had been picking her earlier on.

Poverty or Candyass, I can’t decide which one I like better. Poverty has a smile that melts me, and at least in the editing which has occurred in recent weeks she doesn’t seem to be flaunting her sexuality in order to stay. Candyass has Jennifer Gardner quality about her, and I think that there was love at first sight earlier in the season. 🙂

I really like Yul and Ozzy. I doubt that either will win, but I am sort of rooting for one of them now.

Back In The Office
I started to watch last night’s SuperSized episode of The Office when I realized that I never got around to watching last week’s episode. I have to admit that I am really hooked to The Office now, although I think it will be painful for me to watch the plot line about Jim, Pam and oh what the hell was her name?! It’s not because I face the same situation often, it’s because I don’t!

Decatur CD Turns Three, My Friend Betsy Turns **
Tomorrow night Decatur CD is throwing its own birthday party. Word on the street, aka their blog is that they will be having Terrapin beer and a live performance by Atlanta’s own The Selmanaires.

Also celebrating a birthday this week is my friend Betsy! Not willing to divulge a woman’s age, I will have to divulge something else about her — she is still on dialup. Yes Betsy, I will help you change that, assuming you haven’t done so already. Oh, another embarrassing tidbit about Betsy is that she is from New Jersey. 😛

And now for some ideas stolen from LiveJournal…

Did you see in the scenes for next week’s episode that Yul’s gonna tell Ozzy about having the immunity idol? That seems like a super dumb-ass move to me. I want to see what the rationale is behind that, but mostly I’m thinking that Yul is just too trusting/nice for his own good.

And, I was thinking last night how I CAN’T WAIT for the reunion/finale show when Billy comes back and they get to call him out on the “love at first sight” in front of Candice. I also wonder if he’ll (Billy) have something to say about her hooking up with Adam. That’s all going to be hilarious and will totally make the too-damn-long reunion show worth the watch.

  2. Paulie [eatl/ga] says:

Yes I saw that. I really don’t understand why he would divulge that information.

The Finale show should be interesting. I have this strange feeling that Adam will either propose to Candice on the show, or they will already be engaged by then. Although this could always be a classic Showmance.

  3. Barb says:

Paulie – I first have to say, do you ever sleep? Get home at midnight & then watched Survivor as well as The Office?

I think Candace & Adam think they can/will be the next Rob & Amber. He seems to be an idiot, I think she is just using him. But, I don’t either one of them could win, because people don’t seem to like them that much. And, Yul, Ozzy, etc. will never vote for her to win if they are on the jury. When they get to the individual immunity challenges, Ozzy or Yul I think will do all the winning.

I got a good four or so hours of sleep last night. 🙂 I’ll probably take a nap sometime today after work.

  5. Betsy says:

Oh hell. Just tell em my age. (soon i can be described as a “handsome” woman. Then it’s all over, you might as well just start on the Ensure and play bingo).

    Even my weight. (healthy)

And yes, I say “the shore” and sing out loud to Bon Jovi’s “Livin’ on a Prayer.”

    Just not the dial-up part.

  6. Terri (SW) says:

I hate watching Survivor sometimes…don’t these fools know that you must bust up the couples as soon as you get the chance (re: Rob and Amber)? It’s like these ding-dongs have never watched the show before. I hate them all.

Except Yul and Ozzy…I’ll have some Asian and Mexican takeout with a side of hot and spicy sauce, please 😉

    Sorry…that was uncalled for 😛
