I’m An Inconsequential Georgia Voter

I knew that everyone I voted for was going to lose, they all had (L) after their names.

WWJSD?
A co-worker and I got into a conversation about election day yesterday. We were joking about writing in names for uncontested races. But it got me thinking about this…

What if everyone wrote in the same name, say John Smith, for a write in candidate let’s say for the gubernatorial race? John Smith would be declared the winner, but which John Smith? The only information we provided for our write-in candidate was a name and that is obviously not unique. How would this be handled? I know that the premise is outlandish but it is at least conceivable.

Thanks All!
There were a lot of good restaurant suggestions put in yesterday’s comments. Now I am going to have to try eating at them and doing a Layperson Paulie Food Critique as a future “Stuck On The Connector” post.

What The Cluck
If I can get away with it next Monday night I am going to attempt to go to see “Nobody Here But Us Chickens” which is being put on by Out of Hand Theater at Push Push Theater in Decatur. Next Monday is an “Industry Night” meaning you can pay in cash anywhere from $12-$35 at the door. This sounds good to me as long as I fit under whatever they are categorizing as “Industry”.

Stalk Me Tonight
I’ll be at The EARL tonight to see White Whale. I know very little about this band, except for the one song that gets played on Sirius. I think that I might try and take the “big camera” into The EARL and see what happens. I’d like to see what I can do in a concert setting.

And now for some ideas stolen from LiveJournal…
Current Mood – fair
Current Music – Sirius Satellite Radio, Channel 26 playing Tom Waits — “Long Way Home”
Website Of The Day – I just bought a French press coffee maker for my office. Now it’s off to Coffee Geek to figure out what I should be putting into it.
Exercise (b)Log – nada

Cheers,
Paulie [eatl/ga]

    Nplts,
Nick’s is good stuff as long as you are not looking to take a date! (take out only) I could eat gyro’s with salziki till my arteries stop flowing… I love that stuff. They always have a daily special (Greek lasagna, 1/2 chicken, etc) at a reasonable price and it’s a tasty change IMHO, although they try and throw a lot of fries at you. You can actually talk with Nick as he is “fresh off the boat” from Greece… more than 30 years ago however!!! I’d give it a try you really can’t go wrong for the price. Closed Mon/Tues I think….

    Paulie,
You’ll find quite a bit of a difference in the French press vs. espresso vs. American coffee. My espresso maker was acting up so I bought a French press, yummy, but definitely different taste and texture… more chewy! I’ll be having a look at Coffee Geek too now… but my heart and wallet belongs to Dekalb Farmers Mkt selections!

Man, I haven’t obsessed about espresso makers in awhile. Just left ebay. Check out the Atomic or Vesuviana Brevettata Espresso Maker (or type in vintage with espresso maker). cool small machines. When I win the lottery, I plan on getting a hand/lever pressed one! All-clad also had a cool manual one.

I KNOW better than to read yer blog BEFORE I watch the Amaz. Race! Can’t believe some commenter felt ‘spoiled!’
DAMN—I missed the gay models ‘relationship/race’ slip-up. Maybe I should WATCH the DVR copy, NOT delete it, THEN read yer blog….

Regarding good food joints: for Pizza and Guacamole (I know-seems odd) you can’t BEAT ‘Shorty’s’ at N. Druid Hills and LaVista.

Regarding coffee makers—as long as it’s got a programmable timer (or someone prepares it for me early in the day), I haven’t any preference. Caffeine, warm, and little to no effort involved are my only coffee makin’ criteria.

  4. Paulie [eatl/ga] says:

Greta, I am unfamiliar with Shorty’s. I wish I had heard of this when I still worked at N Druid and I85.

As you all know I like to stop in and get coffee from Joe’s, especially when Ellen is working, but this French press will work well for the days that I cannot. My officemates don’t like the coffee nearly as strong as I do.

hey there— out of hand’s normal, everyday policy is $12-$35, on monday you can pay ANYTHING! (seriously… $5, $10, $100…anything you want!)and don’t worry about the industry thing, that’s just what most monday night shows are called (as theater people usually have monday nights off, so that’s the only day they can attend)

    phew! so much info.

good chance you’ll see ME on stage on monday- an actor got hurt during opening weekend and i’ve taken over the role. I’m hoping she heals up and can be back on stage this weekend, but we’ll see!

    hope to see you monday–

  6. Paulie [eatl/ga] says:

Kathleen, if you’ll be on stage then I most certainly will go, and will only criticize the other actors. 🙂

Thanks for clearing things up. Is it a 7pm show?

  7. kathleen says:

it’s actually an 8 o clock show– but the show is short (an hour and 15 min) so it shouldn’t run too long. oh, and there’s a bar in the lobby, and we fully encourage drinking in the theater, so odds are it won’t be TOO bad an evening.

oh, and i just got a call– i’ll for sure be performing that night. fair warning though– i only got one rehearsal (!) so if you hate the show it’s not my fault. eek…. looking forward to meeting you!

  8. Smoove D says:

Nobody will bother you with a big camera. I’ve shot a billion shows there.
