The Long And Winding Road

Today’s title was initially to refer to my weight and the long and winding road that I face in order to get back to the person I used to be. Then this morning I was unable to merge onto the Connector because it was jammed packed at 6:30am and I was forced to take the long and winding path to Sidney Marcus so that I could jump onto 400 from there to make it into work.

Hurricane Paulie is weakening in the Pacific as it can’t decide whether or not to slam into Cabo San Lucas.

Poor little guy looks like a sperm lost out in the ocean.

btw- Thanks to Randy for bring this weather information to my attention.

Paging Captain Obvious!
For a while I was quite confused why everyone was so up on Sunday’s Amazing Race. Afterall the show started with the continuous product placement of the damn Nokia phone.

For a while I thought that Rob and Kimberly were taking a walk, but soon I realized that the beginning of the show contained foreshadowing and that it was going to be Team “Three And A Half Legs” (or was it Team “One And A Half Legs Plus One Big Asshole”?) to walk the plank. It certainly came as no surprise to me that the end of their participation in the show also marked the end of their relationship either. As I stated before, I’ve seen that look and heard that tone of voice from enough women to know that Peter was doomed. I had a good laugh when they lucked onto the Fast Forward instead of the camel race track. I’m sure that Sarah misread the map on purpose just to end the relationship… as I am sure as at least one of my former girlfriends has done the same. 🙂

The rest of the race still frustrates and confuses me, mostly with the amount of “teamwork” going on between the Cho(?) brothers, Alabama, and Kentucky. To let David and Mary run free to the Fast Forward seems a bit asinine to me as well. The only reason I can see this threesome staying together is if the Cho-bros think that they can beat the other two if they are the last three teams remaining.

Next week’s previews already have me geeked up to watch.

I call this “Table For One”

There Was A Seat Open At My Table

Why It’s CD Tuesday!
A few of the Indie Gods release discs today. Who you may wonder? Well Conor Oberst, aka “Bright Eyes” for one. He is releasing one of those cheesy “B-Sides and Rarities” discs that I abhor, so I won’t be picking that up.

Instead I will pick the release of “The Black Parade” from My Chemical Romance for my CD Pick Of The Week. Why not, I like blacks, parades, chemicals, and romance so it seems like the perfect mix for my tastes. I didn’t get a chance to listen to the disc on AOL’s CD Release Party so I can’t guarantee it being good, but I will be giving the disc a virtual spin tonight.

And now for some ideas stolen from LiveJournal…
Current Mood – down in the dumps
Current Music – Sirius Satellite Radio, Channel 26 playing Arctic Monkeys — “I Bet That You Look Good On The Dancefloor”
Website Of The Day – The site 5ives is chock full of silly Top 5 lists. Go kill a few minutes there if you too are feeling down in the dumps.
Exercise (b)Log – none

Cheers,
Paulie [eatl/ga]

Okay so I was thinking about you yesterday and I’ve come up with a plan that’s crazy enough to work.

What if you take the loot from all the concert tickets you buy but don’t use and set it aside for a personal trainer?

Two birds, one stone. I know! It’s brilliant!

  2. Paulie [eatl/ga] says:

Funny. I was thinking about a personal trainer this morning as well. I’ve done it in the past, I just may do it again.

  3. Maigh says:

That’s because we’re GENIUSES! Wait, did I spell that right?

  4. Paulie [eatl/ga] says:

    LOL!

If the word meaning “an intelligent person” was only Guinness instead, we’d never spell it wrong. 🙂
