InsideThePerimeter Goes In The Loop

Beer, Beer, Beer, Beer, Beer
Throw in a Italian Beef sandwich that I ate at Monk’s Pub (Google Map link) and you know what I consumed before taking a nice afternoon nap.

Beer tally:
1 – 22 ounce Fat Tire Amber Ale
2 – 12 ounce Goose Island 312 (a locally-produced wheat beer)
2 – 12 ounce Old Style

Wait Wait, Tell Me Why I Am Walking In The Rain?
Yesterday there was a 30% chance of rain. I encountered all 30% on my (slightly misguided) walk from my hotel room the the Chase Auditorium. It poured so damn hard that I had to stop in a CVS so that I could buy an umbrella. Let me tell you that a $5 umbrella doesn’t do the greatest job of keeping the rain off you. After a few minutes of valiant rain shielding my umbrella started letting water seep through. Oh well, it was certainly better than having nothing covering me.

The taping of Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me was rather fun. As you can see below I was able to get a second-row seat. Woo Hoo!

The
It was interesting to see them redo parts of the show at the end in order to get a quality show for NPR. For those who listen to the show, one of the callers was a librarian from Jonesboro Georgia, but I won’t tell you if she wins.

Happy Birthday Greetings
My friend Lisa, known to many as Cheese Infection, is celebrating. It’s not nice to tell a woman’s age, so I’ll just say that she has no fear of turning forty for another four years…

And now for some ideas stolen from LiveJournal…
Current Mood – Happy (yes, you read that right, happy)
Current Music – Tom Petty — “Free Fallin'” in the lobby of my hotel
Website Of The Day – Sometimes those “advertisement links” in Gmail are really awesome. Go check out Uber Tap the multiple tap keg tap!

If you ever want a quick glance of the sites I’ve picked for my Websites Of The Day, you can check them out on del.icio.us, my user name is InsideThePerimeter (go figure), and they are all tagged as “blogged.”

Yesterday’s Exercise (b)Log – none, took a day off (except for the mad dash from Concourse A to Concourse B)

Cheers,
Paulie [eatl/ga]

hey – how’s the Hotwire hotel? where are you staying?

  2. It’s actually really decent. I am staying at the Hard Rock Hotel. The only complaints I’ve had so far is that I don’t get wi-fi in my room (I do at the bar though) and the room doesn’t get really cold (and it’s in the 90’s up here now).

  3. Paulie [eatl/ga] says:

Here’s the link to the Hard Rock

  4. Barb says:

such a bummer that you have to sit in the bar, drink a beer & type on your computer….. but I guess the people watching can be distracting 😉 Maybe you will get lucky and meet some new friends, or maybe get picked up by a hooker?

  5. Oliver says:

You’re missing your Mets about to be whupped up on by the Braves. I’ll try to catch one of the two home run balls hit by the Braves off of Pedro tonight. They will be enough for a 5-2 Braves win. You heard it here first. Have a fun trip! If you see something called a Jamba Juice, you should stop by… a good (and very hot) friend of mine manages the joint.

  6. Katlanta says:

Ha ha, I’ve heard that one before, ‘wi-fi only works in the bar.’ Well, have some extra fun for me, I’m off to the microfilm room at the library.

  7. Paulie [eatl/ga] says:

@Barb: I keep meeting people in bars, unfortunately they are very young people. I have not seen so many young women since I stopped going to Buckead.

@Oliver: Tsk, tsk, sorry about that Braves loss last night. 😛 I guess you should have waited to post. I walked past a Jamba Juice yesterday, darn it. I’ll see if I can find it again tomorrow (that is much harder for me than it sounds).

@Kat: Honestly, it’s true! I’d love to be surfing from my room and the bar, but no wifi available in my room. 🙁
