Hell Paso Here I Come
It’s going to be nearly 100 degrees in El Paso Texas tomorrow, and that’s where I will be

El Paso

Oh joy! At least it will be a dry heat, right?

I Want My $2
On Friday night the hash happy hour was Flatiron. I love when I can walk to the bars for the hash happy hour. After a couple of pints someone entered the bar and asked us why we weren’t drinking $2 pints / $7 pitchers of Sam Adams over at Crave (which I don’t have listed on this site, huh). That situation quickly changed. Many applause to Michelle, the kind waitress of Crave for serving us copious amounts of Sam Adams, always with a smile, and most likely acting as a buffer between us and the management that didn’t seem too keen on having a bunch of drinkers pulling tables around their patio.

After getting my fill of Sam Adams I stumbled over to The EARL where I ran into Fat Asian Baby, and finally introduced myself to Chris, bass player of Sovus Radio and son of hasher “Two Crabs.” I timed my visit perfectly because no sooner did I have a Miller High Life in hand then Kill Gordon, the band I was there to see, started their set.

Kill Gordon is a local three-piece (guitar, bass, drums) who blew me away with raw energy. The guys have definite musical talent and the hard- driven Nirvana-esque (sorry, but the comparison had to be made and I am sure that I am not the first to do so) show that they put on convinced me that I will have to attend another one of their shows in the future.

Have Camera Will Travel
I didn’t plan for this weekend to be a photography weekend, it just happened that way. I woke up late on Saturday and wasn’t in the mood to sit around and catch the end of the day’s stage of the Tour de France. I left the house, swung by the garage sale being run by my friends Mike and Sandy, and then headed over to American Roadhouse for some Saturday brunch.

I don’t make it to American Roadhouse often, it’s one of those places I like but think about too late or on a Sunday when it is really crowded. It seems that every time I go there it’s Thanksgiving because I usually order the turkey and stuffing blue plate which is served with cranberry jelly. Yum, yum, yum!!!

After leaving American Roadhouse I decided to walk off lunch by doing a little solo photostroll downtown.

As you can see I went into SunTrust Plaza

Star Wars Or SunTrust? Sometimes It's Hard To Tell

and into the Marriot Marquis

The Beehive That Is The Marriot Marquis
And if you swing over to my Flickr photostream you can see the rest of my pictures from this weekend.

On Sunday I received a text message from my friends Stacy and Phil telling me that they were out doing a photostroll in Ansley and asking me if I had plans. We decided to meet up at the Corner Tavern in Little Five Points and proceeded to drink there, the Euclid Avenue Yacht Club, and El Myr before deciding to call it quits.

On The Wall, Part 1

One More Time, With Feeling

Ooops, I never made it over to Corned Beef Sunday at Twain’s. Well, since no one told me that they were going over there yesterday I am sure I didn’t leave anyone hanging. If I did, I apologize.

And now for some ideas stolen from LiveJournal…
Current Mood – Not too bad
Current Music – Sirius Satellite Radio, Channel 26 playing Deadboy And The Elephantmen — “Misadventures Of Dope”
Website Of The Day – After a long weekend of photography I just might honor Non-Photography Day.

If you ever want a quick glance of the sites I’ve picked for my Websites Of The Day, you can check them out on del.icio.us, my user name is InsideThePerimeter (go figure), and they are all tagged as “blogged.”

Exercise (b)Log – running/walking, 6 miles on Saturday

Cheers,
Paulie [eatl/ga]

FYI here is the web site for Crave http://craverestaurant.com/

Great time there on Friday, I really love the patio.

I use my PDA and a little PDA sized moleskin filled with graph paper. It works well. Plus, the moleskin has a little flap/pocket to hold receipts and scraps of paper.

I’m easily frustrated by homonyms and like it when I catch an error–makes me feel smart (-er). “…Little Five Points and proceeded to drink their, the Euclid Avenue Yacht Club, and El Myr before deciding to…”
Whoo hoo—thanks for the lil’ ego boost!!

Since there was no mention of it, I take you didn’t visit the Museum of Design, next to Marriot Marquis. Worth visiting, nice show there.

    @Frank: Fixed, thanks.

@Robert: I went into one small room in Marquis Tower 1(?) that had furniture and some room arrangements. I took a few pictures, but the room was too dark to get decent shots. In the other tower was a store, but they were not open.

Great pictures – especially like the Suntrust Plaza and Marriot Marquis ones.
