I’ve Been Up Since 1:30am

It’s now 4:00am and I’ve decided to post. It’s not that I am not getting any sleep, it’s that I am getting sleep at the wrong time. Last night I crashed around 9:00pm only to awake at 1:30am. Damn, I’m going to need copious amounts of coffee today…

I’ve Been Defrauded!!
When asked by my credit card company about a charge to “Emu U” in Tokyo Japan Friday I found out that someone had gotten my credit card number. While buy a lot of stuff I knew that this charge wasn’t mine because it was done with a credit card that, with the exception of one or two purchases, I only use for in-person purchases. I have different credit card for online purchases. Therefore the likelihood of me flying to Japan for this purchase is very slim.

Oh DeKalb County! (Technology Strikes Out, Part 1)
Last night I attempted to renew the Jackmobile’s tag using the county’s online renewal. Unfortunately I was greeted with an error message when I tried to process the renewal. After the problems encountered with my auto insurance a few weeks ago, I think that I just might mail in a check for the registration now…

Oh Cartersville! (Technology Strikes Out, Part 2)
Saturday morning was a lovely time to go on a bike ride. Had I known what time I needed to be in Cartersville and was motivated to get out of bed really early on Saturday morning, perhaps I would have found out.

On Friday night I went to check for the start time for the ride. Instead of getting a page of information, I was presented with a login page of some sort. It was at that point that I decided that if I was to wake up early and feel motivated, I would go otherwise I would find something else to do.

ISO Stupid Sometimes
Instead of riding I packed up the camera gear and headed out to hopefully grab the final shots necessary for the scavenger hunt and to play with my new lens.

One of my first stops was Freedom Parkway to take a downtown Atlanta postcard shot. From there I walked up to the MLK statue on Freedom Parkway and shot these (as well as some others which I didn’t like)

Tell It To The Hand

I Have A Dream

After I got back into my car I had a good chuckle as I saw a young woman walking on the overpass with a camera. My first thought was to stop and chat, but I was hungry and morning sun only lasts for so long.

I ate breakfast at the Silver Skillet, went to a secret location to get some hazy summer day shots of downtown, and then did a little photostroll along 14th Street.

Overall I’m still dissatisfied with my photos. In part because I forgot to reset my ISO therefore some of my shots were shot at 800 when they didn’t need to be, and in part because I feel like I’ve hit a plateau and need to have a breakthrough in order to get to the next level.

Beefing Up The Social Calendar
A glance over to my calendar on the right you’ll notice that it is once again growing. I purchased a ticket to the Braves game for Wednesday, July 5th. I plan on skipping the George’s run that night and instead drag the camera down to Turner Field for some experimentation.

In addition I’ve added a nerdy meetup at The Highlander on July 11th, and the next APWBWGTTD on July 21st.

btw- I’m still looking for a way to avoid massive Ticketmaster charges for shows at the Tabernacle. Does anyone know anything about their box office?

And now for some ideas stolen from LiveJournal…
Current Mood – empty
Current Music – Listening to Bright Eyes “Digital Ash In A Digital Urn”
Website Of The Day – Farmers need love too, and if you are in this category drive your virtual tractor over to Farmers Only to plant your seeds of love.

If you ever want a quick glance of the sites I’ve picked for my Websites Of The Day, you can check them out on del.icio.us, my user name is InsideThePerimeter (go figure), and they are all tagged as “blogged.”

Exercise (b)Log – a wet, muddy Black Sheep hash on Sunday

Cheers,
