This Is One Step Closer To The ITP You Remember

Well, Well, Well
Looky, the right-hand sidebar is a lot more useful today! I had somewhat of an epiphany last night. I realized that I didn’t have to play completely by WordPress’ rules and I kludged together some HTML to get the sidebar closer to its former self. I’m sure that I’ll be continually have to play with this kludge, but at least I am a little more pleased with this site.

Google Releases A Calendar For The Web
And I am confused and somewhat unimpressed.

After porting over my “Walk In My Footsteps” code I found out that Google has made it possible to publish one’s calendar on the web. I was excited and quickly went to use it. After attempting to follow the directions, which didn’t work real well, I finally figured out how to create a new calendar and add an event. Unfortunately the hyperlinks I entered didn’t work properly, something that I was really hoping Google would consider.

Maybe I’ll try to figure out how to import an RSS feed from Upcoming.org instead.

Treo On Hold
Last night I decided that I was going to jump on the free Treo 650 offer that I have been provided. That was until I read that the phone would be delivered in 6-8 weeks. In this day and age I am too impatient to wait that long, and besides in August my Sprint contract is up and I free to move to any smart phone I desire. So for now I will continue to carry my Samsung A680 phone and now-internet-ignorant HP iPAQ rx3115 in order to manage my life.

Note To All: Never Eat At Hell’s Kitchen
Has anyone figured out why people still continue to try and eat at Hell’s Kitchen?

As for the show, the men are a mess; I still want to really like Heather; and I cannot wait until Sarah slips up and gets booted off the show.

CD Pick Of The Week
I feel so out of it. While I recognize most of the names listed for release today, Frank Black, Obie Trice, Keane, Nellie Furtado, and Guster, I have only heard one song from these releases. This tells me one of two things

  1. I am no longer “hip and connected”
  2. The record companies are doing a really shitty job promoting their artists

(argh, I need to update the CSS for these lists, because what I have is really not what I want)
Therefore declare today a “toss up” and my suggestion is to go to one of those stores with a listening station and take these releases out for a spin. If you have a suggestion for me as to what I should own, please drop them into the comments.

And now for some ideas stolen from LiveJournal…
Current Mood – alright
Current Music – Sirius Satellite Radio, Channel 26 playing The Replacements — “Message To The Boys”
Website Of The DayTourB.us has yet to make it to Atlanta, but I am hoping that this site provides a better interface than Upcoming and Pollstar for finding concerts in Atlanta when it does.

If you ever want a quick glance of the sites I’ve picked for my Websites Of The Day, you can check them out on del.icio.us, my user name is InsideThePerimeter (go figure), and they are all tagged as “blogged.”

Exercise (b)Log – nothing

Cheers!

    Congrats, kid, lookin’ good!

As for the Google cal, it’s been giving me issues, too. Started effing around with adding events only to find it was tacking my last name on everything. Figured out where that was stored and removed it, but the change didn’t cascade (booo) and I haven’t had the patience to go back and deal with it again yet. :\

paulie–last night I watched hell’s kitchen, 2 shows back to back. that dude with the poncey haircut worked my nerves and i’m glad he’s gone. i like the chick that burned her hand–is this heather?

who eats at hell’s kitchen? those that want to be on tv. like that bitch that walked out after one hour or so (hey other tables waited for 2 hours!!), when her lamb thingy wasn’t out in the promised 45 seconds. she’ll have her own reality show soon, i’m sure.

  3. @Maigh: Thanks, I am much more satisfied with it right now. Next on the agenda is to get my photos on the header and whip up some pages with goodies like insites into my iTunes library, etc.

@Betsy: Guacamole (not his name, I know) needed to be dismissed. Heather is the twenty-something with attitude from Port Jeff, NY. She was a shining star early on but faded a bit last night. I see a future catfight between her and Sarah and I just can’t wait. As for the woman who complained last night Ramsey was amazingly quiet. Normally he’d tell the customer to go eff themselves in no uncertain terms.

  4. Cory says:

I ditto about Heather(wrt, wanting to like her). I felt she was over the top with her reaction to the “sexist” comment. Not that that excuses the comment, but she’s lucky it wasn’t worse after they came in rubbing the win in the guys faces.

CD Releases: I’m picking up Guster at lunch but I’m biased. Also seeing them sing the National Anthem before the Sox game tonight. I saw them in NH last November and they put on an amazing show (which I now have the live cds from–thanks to the gf and Guster’s tape-friendly attitude).

Tourb.us looks promising. I hope they add Atlanta soon…
