I need a project. I know how to program (C is my (rusty) speciality, but I can easily relearn C++ and wouldn’t mind kicking the tires of PHP). No, I am not looking for a new job, but to rekindle a hobby with the interaction of nerds. [look, I’ve given up on finding a girlfriend/wife, so why shouldn’t I promote my inner geek]
Things For Which I Am Thankful: Part 2
I am thankful that the phrase “buy new 60GB iPod is on my To-Do list for today.” I am finally fed up with trying to figure out what music I want to carry with me, and with this new purchase I’ll be able to carry it all (along with podcasts, video and photos). I just wish that my To-Do list also contained an entry for “Pick up new XBOX 360.”
Things For Which I Am Sad: Part 1
Somebody (finally?) stole the push broom I keep in my carport. It saddens me that I have lock down or hide anything I want to keep (for the record other then the carjackking I have now had an umbrella taken from my front porch as well).
While the broom was standing in plain view next to my trash cans, it was in a darkenend carport so I wonder if someone saw it from the street, or had walked up to my door to check out my house as well. I am considering buying some security cameras. Sad indeed.
For All Yea Who Need To Buy Used CDs On Monday
One of my favorite used CD haunts, Decatur CD is now open on Mondays through the end of the year. You can tell Warren that I sent you, but he’ll have no idea who the hell you are talking about.
The Dark Days Of CD Releases
Yuck! Look who’s trying to peddle new warez today
- Enya
- Talib Kweli
- Mendoza Line
- System Of A Down
I am sure I’ll pass on buying these ‘gems’ many times…
And now for some ideas stolen from LiveJournal…
Current Mood – eh
Current Music – Sirius Satellite Radio, Channel 26 playing Ted Leo and the Pharamacists — “Ted Balgeary, Balgury Is Dead”
Website Of The Day – She’s very pretty and she blogs about hockey, why wouldn’t I pick Elisha Cuthbert’s Blog as my Website Of The Day.
If you ever want a quick glance of the sites I’ve picked for my Websites Of The Day, you can check them out on del.icio.us, my user name is InsideThePerimeter (go figure), and they are all tagged as “blogged.”
Exercise (b)Log – nothing (the poison ivy from last week is driving me nuts!)
Cheers!

Do you know about the Obfuscated C Programming contest? My friend who authors Somewhat Disoriented (linked from my blog) won 6 times, including 2004’s Best Non-Use of Curses. http://www0.us.ioccc.org/winners.html#S
I do know about the contest. I was never any good a coding obfuscation, which for my former co-workers was a good thing! 🙂
Maybe see if any non-profit organizations (like a theater company, for example) need any work done. It would give you a project to do, help them, and maybe get your some free tickets or something.
I don’t know of any off hand, but im sure if you asked around, you could find one.
That’s a great idea, Moise. It reminds me that a friend’s ex-wife used to be the webmaster for one of the local theater.
